PEOPLE THAT I LOVE

I have decided to start a series about the people in my life that I love, adore, admire and couldn’t live without…to remind myself  how lucky I am. What better place to start than with my Dad!

 DAD

My Dad is truly the kindest man I know. He remembers the names of every employee at his market, dry cleaners, gas station and pharmacy. Actually, he doesn’t just remember their names but the name of their wives, children, parents and dogs. He just cares. He loves watching the news and reading health magazines. He calls me everyday to make sure I am ok and if he doesn’t hear from me for a day he gets nervous something happened to me. He taught me how to be level headed, diplomatic, kind and thoughtful. Everyone tells me I am a spitting image of my Dad and even though it’s odd to say you look like a guy,  i’d have to agree. He’s a great story teller and funny as hell. He loves a good martini and a Cuban cigar. He calls me pup and there has never been a day that went by that I doubted his love for me.

Kate, I met you a long time ago but I know your Dad for longer. I was choked by the beauty of your language and the love for your Dad, which is so well deserved. You are so correct about your father’s attitude towards people, towards life, towards you. He IS energetic and caring, intelligent and strong, trying to do the right thing as best as he can (which is most times very difficult). We dont talk or see each other for long periods of time but I think abt him (and Fritz) constantly. You are fortunate to be his daughter and he, as he tells me, is fortunate to be your father. Bosch
