things that have been making me happy recently…
– spending hours (yes hours) watching “Breaking Bad” with Brian. We got to the “Breaking Bad” party late but we are making up for lost time. We are obsessed. The other night we watched 3 in a row- that’s close to 3 hours of television! We would have watched more but we had finished the DVD. We’re like addicts over here.
– my yoga practice. My time on the mat keeps me sane.
– elephants. My obsession started when I learned that I can ride an elephant when we are in Nepal! This is going to be me-
– putting my vision boards in full display again. I think Brian was a little surprised when he got home from work and it greeted him at the front door! I mean, don’t I look beyond happy in that middle picture?!
– the book “Wild”- Cheryl Strayed is an incredible writer.
– my weekly hikes in the Santa Monica mountains
– spending mornings writing at my favorite coffee shop
– this quote
“Write like a motherfucker.” ― Cheryl Strayed

What’s been making you guys happy recently??
things that have been making me happy lately:
– new awesome clients
– a newfound positive attitude (i hope it stays!!!)
– farm fresh to you deliveries
– morning snuggles with che– he waits for PJ to give him permission to jump on the bed … and then pushes my head out of the way to curl up on my pillows
Your newfound positive attitude shines through in this comment!! Love it!! I miss the little Che:)
Ditto to Rachel 🙂 A positive attitude is beautiful and infectious. More of it!
I’m loving my paddle boarding mornings (the water makes me feel connected and grounded) and also enjoying BB with my guy. Although we’ve caught up to real-time and the suspense is killing me!
I must try the paddle boarding with you! It sounds amazing:)
That picture of the old woman makes me happy. 🙂
She’s totally feeling it right? 🙂
Getting my little one ready for pre-k. Getting a few extra visitors to my tiny blog today. Getting to spend the day with my kids 🙂
I LOVE that picture on the elephant!
I’m full of an almost hippie-like zen feeling that has been keeping me happy lately.
A love a hippie like zen feeling!! 🙂
Ok maybe the same as before. My daughter Rachel becoming a yoga teacher and opening her new space. My grandson Blaise calling me many times each day and saying “hey Mom” giggling and hanging up. I love the sound of his voice even though he does not have the concept yet of a conversation:) Going away for the weekend with my husband Jack to San Diego. Updating my website. My 15 year old cat sleeping as close as she can to me. Karaoke Yoga getting a lot of press. Looking forward to the Ojai Manifestation Yoga Retreat next month. Looking forward to my trip to Atlanta & Philly this month to see family and friends. Reading your blog of course.
I always love reading your comments Barbara. I can’t wait to hang next month at the retreat!!!
Yay!!!
The fact that this new school year doesn’t feel anywhere near as crazy and chaotic and holy-crap-this-is-all-new-again in the parenting department. That and the fact that I have read two of your posts in the last two days-ish. (That was yesterday, right?)
Those first two pictures are almost too much. We’re in love! Ha! Day brightener, right there.
Touching and lifting another persons heart and spirit each day!
Kate, have you read Cheryl’s post ‘the obliterated space’ as Dear Sugar, it is so… There aren’t words moving, literally unforgettable, humbling, just, whoa.
So glad you found Cheryl and if you know the write like a mofo quote, you also discovered her as Sugar – there are worse ways to spend a few hours than readin the entire Dear Sugar backlog
Thank you, thank you, thank you for this recommendation!!! I read it this weekend and looooved it. She’s so damn good.
Have to add something to my list. All the truly amazing comments I have seen from people who attended Jen’s workshops in both Philly and NYC this weekend. Wow makes a mama proud.
I maaaayyy have stolen your happy list idea for myself and named mine Blissfully Aware. 🙂 Here is the post I wrote about what makes me smile: http://maternalmedia.com/2012/09/05/blissfully-aware/
Love this post! My hubby and I have recently become obsessed with Breaking Bad too! (and the other day we watched 4 in a row…. I’m not proud! lol) Just finished Season three last night, and I can’t stop thinking about it! ; )
Ha! That’s hysterical. It’s so addictive right?? We are in Season 4 right now:) LOVE IT
