Taline to Kate

6 Jul

Happy Birthday Katers! I remember when you first told me about your 365til30 project and thinking “is it really only one year away till we’re 30?!?” Eek! I immediately had flashbacks to our 12-year-old selves talking about how far away 30 was and wondering where we would be, and probably thinking we’d have everything figured out by then. That thought was followed by “I can’t believe we’ve remained best friends all these years.” In all the surprises life has brought us (and there have been many), there are some things that I am so grateful for…and I am so grateful for this friendship. I’m just glad I get to celebrate your birthday…I get to celebrate you! I am so proud of what you were able to do this past year—cooking included. There was a time, not too long ago, that you called me in a panic because the pasta you boiled was a pile of mush in a strainer.  There is hope for us all! Your blog served as a reminder that it’s never too late to learn something new, and that at 20, 30, 40, 50 or any age, we’ll never have it all figured out—and that’s a good thing. I don’t know what’s next for you, (365tilwedding perhaps? No pressure B!)  but I know whatever it is, it’s going to be great. Thank you for being such a beautiful friend. I hope this birthday, and the rest to come are filled with so much joy, laughter and love.

Happy Happy Birthday Kate!

Love,
Taline

P.S. I’m, like, thinking our 12-year-old selves would be, like, totally happy, amazed and proud of your life at 30.
