20. This text / picture combo gave me quite a laugh.

My brother texted me this- “Hey is there any way to get on the roof of your house?”

I texted back- “no”. (I knew this question had something to do with him filming a new video for his youtube site- he is quite the film maker and has a huge following!)

an hour later I saw this picture on his facebook page and it all made sense.

my three-year-old’s laugh, my eleven-year-old’s light brown sugar eyes, my eight-year-old’s purity of spirit that shows on his face, the beach, the smell of coffee, seeing a good friend, an alive soul, hues of blue, trees (especially the redwoods in santa cruz), pictures that capture a moment and beauty all at the same time, stars…..there’s a few. love this invitation to think about such things. thank you!

When Rob holds the door open for a stranger, and I realize what a kind young man he is. When he rails against the right wing fanatics, and I realize what a bright young man he is. When Jules calls my name. When everyone at home is asleep but me. When it’s sunny. When it rains. When I’m not in the car. When I get out of my head long enough to remember what a lucky human being I am. When I take the time to remember how rich I am in friends. xo
