Turkey day was a blast at Brian’s parents house this year. Filled with lots and lots of good food and laughter. It was the first thanksgiving I have ever spent away my family and after 29 years it was kinda a funny feeling! Brian and I made the decision this year that we wanted to spend the holidays together and someone had to fold first. I folded. I love his family though and their Thanksgiving was great.
My favorite moment had to be the wine debacle. Let me set the scene for you. We were having appetizers and drinks on their beautiful white couch. A couch that I have NEVER seen uncovered. It’s usually covered in plastic and as you can imagine it’s in perfect condition. Well it was until somebody spilled RED wine all over it last night. I’m SO thankful it wasn’t me!!! That would have been horrible. Brian’s father acted quickly and sprung up to remove the slip cover so he could put it in the wash. This is where it get’s really good. As he swung the cushion around he took down every other glass of red wine on the coffee table. I watched it all happen in slow motion and tried to keep my mouth closed. Everybody stood there in astonishment before making a mad dash to clean it. Strangely enough I decided to take pictures of everyone cleaning up the splattered red wine and in retrospect realize this probably wasn’t very helpful but I just couldn’t help myself.
Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving!
