I said goodbye to the Clement house this weekend…for good this time. It was a bittersweet day. This little Venice bungalow will always hold a special place in my heart. I found it a year and 1 1/2 ago when I was transitioning out of a stressful time in my life and needed a calm place to hang my hat. I loved my time in this house and the people I shared it with, Rachel and Alex. It’s also were I fell in love with Brian and started 365 til 30.

You may be wondering why I am saying goodbye now despite moving a month ago. Yes, technically I moved out a month ago but all I really brought to Brian’s house was a few bags of clothes and the rest I stuffed into the Clement house garage. Thank God the landlord is one of my best friends Rachel ( One Part Gypsy).  Come Oct. 1st Rachel had to move out too and  we had to pack up the entire house. We were both less than thrilled about the work ahead of us, but decided to make a fun day out of it.

It  was an interesting day for sure! We spent the morning taking everything out of the house and putting it in the front lawn in different piles…Kate’s pile…Rachel’s pile….Goodwill pile…trash pile…sell pile. We were in a groove. That was until we heard a crackle of thunder. We both looked at each other and said “Oh shit”….”Really?!” Just like that we were being rained on… that includes all of our stuff. There was nothing to do but laugh and break open a bottle of wine. In the end it was a delightful day filled with lots of reminiscing and lots of laughs. Around 6:30 our very helpful significant others relieved us and loaded all the heavy stuff into our Uhaul truck and just like that the Clement house chapter was closed.

All my belongings now live tucked away in a public storage unit until Brian and I find our new home…:)
